The Experience of Israel: Success Against All the Odds

“We got a land that everyone considered hell, but we made it a paradise.” One of Shimon Peres’s most famous quotations, which he said in 2015 in Ukraine. Today, in 2017, H.E. Eliav Belotserkovsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Ukraine, and cadets of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amital Perry, Nir Balzam, and Rasha Atamni tell USPS Alumni whether the lack of natural resources is a guarantee that the state should be poor, whether it is possible in a country where 70% of the territory is covered by desert to successfully engage in agricultural activities, how to coexist with neighbouring countries that do not recognise the existence of your country, and how Israel and Ukraine cooperate now.

I would like to express my gratitude to USPS for the opportunity to speak. It is a great honour for me. I have looked through the list of participants of this meeting and it seems to me that if we are talking about the future of Ukraine, then these people are its future. They give us confidence that Ukraine will become a strong, powerful state.
